The Valley of Ally
Written by: Rachel M. Brown

Felicity Normost strode across the emerald green lawn, muttering curses under her breath. Mom and dad are fighting again. She thought, crossing her arms and scowling back towards her house, where she could still hear glass shattering and angry cries from her parents. She immediately thanked God she was outside when the fight started. Last time she got in their way, all that had given her was a black eye.
Felicity shivered as rain poured down onto her shoulders. Lightning flashed in the sky, lighting it with white, hot, veins that connected the earth to the sky above. The ground rumbled and shook violently as thunder followed, and the trees around her bowed down to the wind while the grass, bending and twisting, created the illusion of waves.
Her clothes were drenched with the heavy drops of rain that continued to plummet from the ominous clouds above. The roses, lilies, and daffodils that used to bloom in the garden, were now dead. Their delicate, green stems that used to stand high, lifting the silky petals, were broken, fallen to the mud.

I know!!!! I know!!!!

I know that I should be writing more about what's going on in my life but ... there really isn't much. I tend to write more about things I think are interesting.
Maybe you don't like anything in my blog but I do!!!! I am very interested in SOME poetry. I love Poe. In fact, I've memorized twelve stanza's of the Raven. Im disappointed that I haven't finished yet....

I'm a bragger!!!!!
I will start occasionally writing about myself but.............that's only when something really cool happens!!!!!!

Fair ....Or Not

By one of my best friends ( Besides warrior maiden and preshie)

It’s not fair that some people get moms and some don’t.
It’s not fair that some people will listen and some won’t.
It’s not fair that some people are poor and some are rich.
It’s not fair that magic doesn’t exist.

It’s not fair that some sisters die and most live.
It’s not fair that the nicest people are the ones with nothing to give.
It’s not fair that some moms are good and some are bad.
It’s not fair that the best moments are the ones we never remember we had.

It’s not fair that life takes unexpected turns.
It’s not fair that tears come when the heart yearns.
It’s not fair that feelings have to be let out.
It’s not fair that there are so many things we don’t know about.

It’s not fair that our lives flash by.
It’s not fair that we’re told all these lies.
It’s not fair that life is too short.
It’s not fair that some people have no support.

It’s not fair that broken hearts don’t mend.
It’s not fair that this poem has to end.

I've just gotten back from my vacation in Wisconsin and I liked it (besides it's obsession with dairy). I went there to see one of my best friends Toni who was having surgery for her scoliosis. I would be too scared to get surgery (even if it was manditory). I don't know how Toni went through with it! I'm still awaiting to hear how she is doing.
After my wonderful trip up north, our whole family went to the ocean. The ocean is so beautiful! It's so endless and deep! When you look at something like that, you have to believe that there is a God!!!
Now away from all that mushy gushy lovey dovey stuff!!!!!
I will be entering High School this year and I am freaked out!!!!!
If you have any tips on how to survive High School, plz put it in the comments section!!!

Togue Twisters!!!!!!!!

~Six sick slick slim sycamore saplings.
~A skunk sat on a stump and thunk the stump stunk, but the stump thunk the skunk stunk.
~Betty Botter had some butter,"But," she said, "this butter's bitter. If I bake this bitter butter,it would make my batter bitter. But a bit of better butter--that would make my batter better."So she bought a bit of butter, better than her bitter butter, and she baked it in her batter, and the batter was not bitter. So 'twas better Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter.
~A big black bug bit a big black bear, made the big black bear bleed blood.
~I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, and on the slitted sheet I sit.
~A Tudor who tooted a flute tried to tutor two tooters to toot. Said the two to their tutor,"Is it harder to toot or to tutor two tooters to toot?"
~A flea and a fly flew up in a flue. Said the flea, "Let us fly!" Said the fly, "Let us flee!" So they flew through a flaw in the flue.
~I need not your needles, they're needless to me;For kneading of noodles, 'twere needless, you see;But did my neat knickers but need to be kneed,I then should have need of your needles indeed.
~A tree toad loved a she-toad who lived up in a tree. He was a two-toed tree toad but a three-toed toad was she. The two-toed tree toad tried to win the three-toed she-toad's heart, for the two-toed tree toad loved the ground that the three-toed tree toad trod. But the two-toed tree toad tried in vain. He couldn't please her whim. From her tree toad bower with her three-toed power the she-toad vetoed him.

A Smile For You

Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized, I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about the smile then I realized it's worth,
A single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth.
So if you feel a smile begin don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected.
note: I know that there are and will be quite a few poems in my blog. What can I say? I love poems!!!

A Parents Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my sanity to keep.
For if some peace I do not find,
I'm pretty sure I'll lose my mind.
I pray I find a little quiet,
Far from the daily family riot.
May I lie back and not have to think
About what they're stuffing down the sink,
Or who they're with,
or where they're at
And what they're doing to the cat.
I pray for time all to myself
(did something just fall off a shelf?)
To cuddle in my nice, soft bed
(Oh no, another goldfish--dead!)
Some silent moments for goodness sake
(Did I just hear a window break?)
And that I need not cook or clean
(well heck, I've got the right to dream)
Yes now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my wits about me keep,
But as I look around I know,
I must have lost them long ago!

Everyone's afraid of something! As for me I am Arachnephobic, meaning I'm afraid of spiders. I am also deadly afraid of lightning. This type fear is called Brontophobia. Now fears like these, such as Altophobia (fear of heights) and Pyrophobia (fear of fire) are very common and normal fears because there is a reason to be afraid of them.
Anyone could be afraid of lightning due to electrocution, or fire due to getting a really bad burn or burning to death. But some phobias are just plain out stupid. I don't know a single person who is Anthrophobic (afraid of flowers), or afriad of freedom (Eleutherophobic).

Do you have one of these crazy fears?
Fear Of:
Anything new- Neophobia
Bald people- Peladophobia
Chopsticks- Consecotaleophobia
Decisions: making decisions- Decidophobia
Everything- Panophobia
Foreign languages- Xenoglossophobia
Gold- Aurophobia
Hair- Chaetophobia
Ideas- Ideophobia
Justice- Dikephobia
Knowledge- Gnosiophobia
Love, falling or being in- Philophobia
Mad, becoming- Lyssophobia
Names- Nomatophobia
Odors or smells- Olfactophobia
Poetry- Metrophobia
Responsibility- Hypengyophobia
School- Scolionophobia
Teeth- Odontophobia
Ugliness- Cacophobia
Vegetables- Lachanophobia
Wealth- Plutophobia
X-rays or radiation- Radiophobia
Yellow color- Xanthophobia

Annabel Lee

By: Edgar Allen Poe

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that,
long ago,In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in Heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide,
I lie down by the sideOf my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,In her tomb by the side of the sea.
This is such a beautifully haunting poem!!!
